The best restaurants in the neighbourhood of Forth Edinburgh and Lothian

14/10/2023: Lagoff is a great addition to the Granton waterfront. We have popped in for coffees, breakfast rolls, lunch and dog treats and all have been great. The guys are really friendly and they even have some seats alongside with views over the Forth. Not obvious from the road, but if you head from Gypsy Brae or Brick Beach you can't miss it.

13/10/2023: Had a lovely cheeseburger from here the other day. It was really tasty, burger quality was excellent and all the salad was very fresh. The guy serving was also lovely. Highly recommended.

10/06/2022: I am so pleased this place is almost on our own doorstep! The food is excellent, the staff and service are brilliant and they provide all in excellent value. The Full Monty breakfast is not for the faint hearted but every bite that you can manage is wonderful. My particular favourite breakfast is 'Eggs Royale' but to be honest, it's difficult to choose as there are so many delicious things to choose from. My favourite lunch is a salt & pepper chicken wrap but, once again, having tried many of their dishes absolutely nothing has disappointed me. If you haven't tried it yet, what are you waiting for?!!!

23/12/2017: Para los mejores y más baratos rollos, desayunos y cafés en el norte de Edimburgo, Gerry's es el lugar donde ir. Este lugar no escatima en porciones como, por lo tanto, no es necesario tener miedo de dejar atrás a un oso hambriento (incluso si solo se lleva el rollo), simplemente no va a suceder.No olvidemos que el personal de cracking este lugar huz. Awffy amistoso n atento, couldny preguntar por cualquier otra cosa. ¡Hombre puro de Barry!

21/10/2015: Friendly quick good food. I go for breakfast rolls and although I live 2 minutes away I still prefer the food here.

09/04/2014: its a good takeaway,I am not in the area very often but usually stop here for a bacon roll and a cup of tea, nice staff and pretty good food,its not high end dining but great cheap food on the go.

28/03/2024: Stopped for a quick light lunch. £2 for soup with a roll and £2 in the charity tin for the coffee. Very friendly, pleasant atmosphere and busy.

12/10/2023: Our visit was the 4th ever service for this college cohort, so taking that into account, the meal was very good. We have to report that the flavour was super, with every course. Which, is the whole point, to taste great flavours. The students rotate the chef role / service role. Their inexperience was a bit more apparent here, but nothing major. Just small attention to details, like different size wine glasses, an extra fork on my seat(?), food arriving before the drinks. The food needed a couple of tweaks too, temperatures were a bit hit and miss, tasty and hot are generally the two core requirements that should be met when dining. Overall they are a talented bunch and would recommend anyone to go and sample their food. I have two more reservations already, next time for the third year student fine dining experience. So I would be hoping that temperatures and consistency issues to be ironed out.

10/03/2023: Had lunch today at the apprentice restaurant. It was our first visit after seeing a banner outside the college and we were not sure what to expect. The food was amazing and exceeded our expectations. The Beef Bourguignon was cooked to perfection, so tender and full of flavor. Dessert was amazing also. It may be a training restaurant, but the food is prepared to a professional standard.

06/05/2024: Their Scotch pies are the best. Served nice and hot with warm, friendly service. Interior was spotlessly clean and plenty of product availability

25/05/2024: Food took 40 mins to come out. 18 quid for a Morrisons pie and some packet mash. Disgusting. Rather go to the Starbank Inn across the road.

17/05/2024: I had one of the best drinks I've ever had in Edinburgh here, and the food was equally impressive. I was recommended to try the burger, and it did not disappoint—absolutely delicious! Highly recommend.

12/05/2024: Amazing food and great service in an understated, cool atmosphere. I ordered the venison special (pictured) and had an experience like the flashback in the film "Ratatouille." My boyfriend ordered the clam chowder, and that was delicious as well. We'll definitely be back!

19/02/2024: Was staying in a hotel nearby for a couple nights and decided to try this takeaway which did not disappoint, got the korma, mixed meat hoagie and chicken pakora which was all lovely and fresh with the dips included, staff were really friendly. If I'm even in the area again I'll be back
